2009 Student Senate Executive Board

The Bryant University Student Senate Executive Board is made up of the: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Speaker of The Council. For further details about the executive role of the Senate’s Executive Board, please refer to the Senate Constitution.

Whitney Blatsos - President

The Student Senate President is the head of the Student Senate and Executive Board, overseeing all of their operations. The President represents their fellow students to the administration and through regular meeting with the Vice President of Student Affairs. Finally, the President enforces the constitution and conducts meetings in accordance with the constitution.

Normand Duquette - Vice-President

The Student Senate Vice-President shall oversee operations and run meetings in the absence of the President. The Vice-President is also the chairperson of the Student Presidents Advisory Council (SPAC), and is responsible for all new initiatives taken on by the Senate.

Danielle Malatesta- Speaker of the Council

The Speaker of the Council is the liaison between the Executive Board and the legislative branch of the Student Senate. The Speaker of the Council oversees the operation of all senate sub-committees and acts as the Ad Hoc Committee Chair responsible for looking into any student concerns not covered in the Senate’s committee structure.

Robert Harvey - Treasurer

The treasurer is responsible for the financial operations of the Student Senate. He/she will implement the yearly budgeting process for all student organizations and serves as the chairperson for the Ways and Means Committee. Under the Treasurer’s leadership the committee makes recommendations to the Senate on all budget allocations and special requests.

Ryan Letourneau - Secretary

The secretary is responsible for keeping up-to-date and public records of all Senate meetings. He/she is also responsible for maintaining the office and overseeing the organizations publicity and internal/external communications.

SENIORS CLASS OF 2009

Erica Noran- Senior Class Committee Co-Chair

Erica, as the Senior Class Co-Chair is responsible for raising funds for their class budget as well as planning Senior Nights and the End of the Year Senior Week Celebration

Brian Ford- Parent's & Family Weekend Co-Chair, Elections Co-Chair, Webmaster

Brian works with his Co-Chair, Jordan on planning Parent's and Family Weekend, which is an annual event every year by the Senate.

Brian works with his Co-Chair, Christopher, on overseeing the Elections Process for the both the Legislative and Executive Bodies of the Student Senate.

Christopher Colabrese- Elections Co-Chair, Athletics Co-Chair

Chris works with his Co-Chair, Brian, on overseeing the Elections Process for the both the Legislative and Executive Bodies of the Student Senate.

Chris works with his Co-Chair, Liana, on overseeing and implementing concerns and ideas brought forth about Athletics at Bryant.

JUNIORS CLASS OF 2010

Jordan Letendre- Parent's & Family Weekend Co-Chair, Senior Service Awards Chair

Jordan works with his Co-Chair, Brian on planning Parent's and Family Weekend, which is an annual event every year by the Senate.

Jordan, as Senior Service Awards Chair, runs the secret committee which selects the six annual awards.

Jessica McGee- Chronicle Chair, Traditions Chair

Jessica, as Chronicle Chair, constructs Bryant's annual telephone book that is distributed to all students and offices.

Jessica, as Traditions Chair, works to upkeep traditions on campus as well as try to implement new ones.

Alicia Whalen- Junior Class Co-Chair

Alicia, as Junior Class co-chair, works to raise spirit throughout her class as well as funds through events and fundraisers that will ultimately go towards the Class of 2010 Senior Week.

Alisha Thompson- Health Services Chair, Public Relations Co-Chair

Alisha, as Health Services Chair, works with the Health Services office to report new announcements as well as implement programs to enhance healthy living at Bryant.

Alisha works with her Co-Chair Sagar to implement new ideas and events to publicize Senate events and Senate happennings.

Luke Bornheimer- DPS, Forums

Luke works with his Co-Chair, Justin along with the Department of Public Safety to report new announcements as well as implement programs to enhance safety at Bryant.

Luke works with his Co-Chair, Erin to construct and run forums in which Students can bring concerns forth.

Liana Grieg- Athletics Co-, FLAC

Liana works with her Co-Chair, Chris on overseeing and implementing concerns and ideas brought forth about Athletics at Bryant.

Liana works with her Co-Chair, Nick to meet with Academic Officials on campus to better enhance the academic life of Students

Jarrod Gibbons- Food Operations

Jarrod works with his Co-Chair, Dhara to help bring forth concerns regarding the food at Bryant as well as implement events to promote Food Operations.

Sagar Shah- Bryant Center Operations, Public Relations

Sagar works to bring forth concerns regarding the Bryant Center building as well as implement Senate sponsored events within it.

Sagar works with his Co-Chair, Alisha to implement new ideas and events to publicize Senate events and Senate happennings.

Daniel Tothill-Sophomore Class Co-chair

Daniel as Sophomore Class co-chair, works to raise spirit throughout her class as well as funds through events and fundraisers that will ultimately go towards the Class of 2011 Senior Week.

Christopher Beels- Facilities

Chris works with the Department of Facilities to report new announcements as well as implement programs to enhance student life regarding Facilities at Bryant.

Kristen Sandstrom- Housing, Community Service

Kristen works with her Co-Chair, Erin to report new announcements as well as bring forth concerns regarding Residence Life at Bryant.

Kristen works with her Co-Chair, Jason to put on community service events with the Senate as well as promote Service within Bryant and the surrounding communities.

Erin Devito- Housing, Forums

Erin works with her Co-Chair, Kristen to report new announcements as well as bring forth concerns regarding Residence Life at Bryant.

FRESHMAN CLASS OF 2012

Cory Cloutier- Freshman Class Co-Chair

Cory as Freshman Class co-chair, works to raise spirit throughout her class as well as funds through events and fundraisers that will ultimately go towards the Class of 2012 Senior Week.

Ami Shah- Diversity

Ami works to implement Diversity on Bryant's campus as well as put on Campus that will promote the idea of Diversity.

Justin Trelegan- DPS

Justin works with his Co-Chair, Luke along with the Department of Public Safety to report new announcements as well as implement programs to enhance safety at Bryant.

Dhara Shah- Food Operations, Historian

Dhara works with her Co-Chair, Jarrod to help bring forth concerns regarding the food at Bryant as well as implement events to promote Food Operations.

Dhara as historian works to keep a history of the events put on by Senate throughout the year by taking photos, videos, etc.

Nicholas Mancuso- Special Olympics, FLAC

Nick as Special Olympics chair, is the liason between the Student Senate and the Special Olympics Northern Rhode Island Games Management Committee.

Nick works with his Co-Chair, Liana to meet with Academic Officials on campus to better enhance the academic life of Students

Jason Fortin- IT, Community Serivce

Jason works with the Information Technology Department to bring forth Student concerns as well as implement change with the Technology at Bryant.

Jason works with her Co-Chair, Kristen to put on community service events with the Senate as well as promote Service within Bryant and the surrounding communities.
