Background

The world with all of its rich culture and difference fascinated me, growing up in a rural area on dairy farm. The places I discovered in books felt very far away, but luckily I was able to live as a student in Japan and that experience changed my life. It is clear to me that we are all part of the human experience and that what binds us is the most compelling part of life. The experiences that I have had with other cultures has given me great joy that I now share with my students in the classroom as an Assistant Professor of Political Science. The scholarly profession provides me with creative energy and fulfillment, I consider myself lucky to be doing something that I love.
