The United Nations is an international organization that dedicates much of its time promoting international peace and friendly relations.  Much of its time is comprised of hundreds of subgroups and agencies which, collectively, attempt in “solving international economic, social, cultural, and humanitarian problems.”  With that said, many of these subgroups focus their attention towards the maintaining sustainable living conditions and preserving /conserving any environmental areas that are in need.  Further among these groups are subgroups dealing with issues pertaining to the rainforests.
