Half of Rhode Island salt marshes have been filled such as Great Salt Cove
Drainage pipes have caused major problems such as the lowering of salinity in the water
Mosquito ditching has drained pools of water which has led to an increase in mosquito populations
Pollution from road runoff, fertilizers, etc. has resulted
