Yuri Stulov is the Director
of the American Studies Center at the European Humanities University
and Professor of World Literature at Minsk State Linguistic University.
He is the author of more than 100 publications on questions of contemporary
U.S. literature, education, culture, film, and the methodology of teaching
modern languages and literature in English. He is the recipient of
numerous fellowships, including a 1998 IREX Fellowship and a 1994 Salzburg
Seminar Fellowship. He has also served as a USIA Higher Education Program
Fellow and a Georgetown University Fellow. He is currently Project
Director of a three-year USIA Grant between Bryant College
and EHU that promotes faculty and curriculum development in civics education
and American Studies. In July 1999 he will serve as Project Coordinator
for a HESP/Open Society Institute summer school course on distance learning
at the European Humanities University.
