In order to cross tab you first must open a data set file. For this tutorial I used "Status98.dat" file found in the initial folder. Then the screen below should appear.

From here you must go to "Command" then "Cross Tab" as shown below.

Then the screen below will appear. Here you must choose what variables you would like to cross tab. Just highlight the desired variable and click on "Select". You will need to select two variables. In this instance say "Ed" and "Age". Then click the "Close" button.

The two variables you choose will now appear at the top of your screen like this: Ed/Age. From here you must go to "Table" then to "Percent Down" as shown below.

Then CHIP will automatically cross tab the variables and create a perfect table like the one below.
