On June 8,1999 the monument to the 53 victims of "Nyemiga" was
unveiled near the entrance to the metro station.
The monument consists of five red marble steps with 40 bronze roses and 13 tulips
symbolising the victims. Under the symbol, there is an inscription on the black marble
53 Scars On the Heart of Belarus. The monument was built by sculptor Gennady
Buralkin and architect Alexander Chadovich. The inscriptions on the walls of the
subway made by the friends and relatives of the victims will be preserved.
The unveiling ceremony took place on the 40th day after the tragedy in accordance
with the Christian traditions.
