MINSK SAYS FAREWELL TO THE VICTIMS OF THE TRAGEDY

According to the extended improved data 53 people fell victims of the tragedy that broke out late on May 30 in Minsk.
To date the identity of all the victims has been established. By 10.00 local time 40 victims have been taken from the municipal morgues by their relatives. Among the victims 16 people were under 18, 29 people aged 18-25, 7 people were older than 25. 3 militia servicemen were killed in the squash. 9 victims of the tragedy were unemployed. All the rest of them were school and college students.
The funeral service for the SWAT sergeant major Vladimir Goven and investigation service sergeant junior Gennady Ryabokon was held in the Railway Palace of Culture in the downtown of Minsk. The militiamen were killed late last Sunday in the Minsk underground when they were making vain attempts to save people. Prime Minister Sergei Ling and interior minister Yury Sivakov has taken part in the mourning ceremony.
It was stated in the course of the farewell ceremony that Alla Melnikova, a doctor of the Republican hospital of the Interior Ministry, was among the victims.
 In the evening the day after  in the regimental church, situated in the village of Okolitsa near Minsk, a sermon for those innocent who got killed in the squash. was held.

 Minsk said farewell to the victims of the tragedy.  Deputy mayor of the capital Pyotr Semashko said that funeral ceremonies  were being held at  all the 7 municipal cemeteries, including the Moskovskoye Cemetery, where famous politicians and public activists are buried..
