Yakub Kolas Square
Nowadays a lot of squares,
streets, theatres and schools, the Institute of Linguistics of National Academy of
Sciences and other institutions have Yakub Kolas’ name. To perpetuate the name of
Yakub Kolas a literary museum was opened in Minsk. Yakub Kolas
monument in one of the most beautiful Minsk’s squares includes the poet's statue and
two statues of the poet's characters. The monument was created by an outstanding
belorusian sculptor Zair Azgur.
