Dr. Sam Mirmirani
Professor & Chair

INTRODUCTION
|
Sam Mirmirani joined the faculty of the Economics Department at Bryant University in 1983 and has
been serving as the Chair of the Department since 1993. Professor Mirmirani received his Ph.D. with primary concentrations in Healthcare Economics and Public Finance
and Secondary specializations in Development Economics and International Trade.
His Ph.D. Dissertation focused on the Impact of Capital Expansion Regulations on the
Hospital Industry in the United States. He also received M.A. in Economics from
Clark University and M.S. in Industrial Administration from the University of
Dallas. Professor Mirmirani received his undergraduate degree (B.A.) in Economics and
Political Science from the National University of Iran in Tehran. His consulting experiences are in the areas of Health Care Policy
Analysis, Technology Assessment, and Economic Impact Studies. Dr. Mirmirani has served as a
member of Business Review Panel at the National Institute of Standards &
Technology, Advanced Technology Program (ATP), U.S. Department of Commerce. |
TEACHING INTERESTS
| My teaching interests are in Healthcare Economics and
Finance, Managerial Economics, Middle East Economics and Fundamentals of
Economics for both undergraduate and graduate programs. |
RESEARCH INTERESTS & PUBLICATIONS
| My primary research interests are in the
area of Healthcare Policy, Management and Finance, Defense Conversion and
Technology Assessment. I am also interested in the Neural Networks and Genetic
Algorithm applications in Business and Economic Forecasting. |
