You can compute your new overall GPA if you know what your GPA was before this semester and your total number of successfully completed credits. Also remember, for courses that have a grade of 'P', you need to omit those credits from the total number of credits.

BUS101 3 A- 3.7 11.1
MATH106 3 C 2.0 6.0
ECS151 3 B+ 3.3 9.9
SCI251 3 B 3.0 9.0
SCI L251 1 B- 2.7 2.7
ECO114 3 C- 1.7 5.1
IRT101 1 F 0 0

Follow these steps:

  • Compute the total number of credits attempted for the semester - Example = 17 Credits Attempted

  • Compute the total number of points for each course: Multiply the credits for each course x the points for each course grade - Example: BUS 101 = 3 credits x 3.7 points (A-   grade) = 11.1 total Quality Points

  • Divide the total number of Quality Points for the semester by / the total number of Credits Attempted for the semester - Example = 43.8 Quality Points / 17 Credits Attempted = 2.57 Semester G.P.A.

  • Cumulative G.P.A. (all semesters) is calculated by dividing the total number of Credits Attempted at Bryant by the total number of Quality Points earned at Bryant.
Quality Point Scale

Requirements for a Bryant degree include a minimum G.P.A. of 2.0 in three categories:

  • Major/Concentration G.P.A.

  • Minor G.P.A.
A = 4.0
A- = 3.7
B+ = 3.3
B = 3.0
B- = 2.7
C+ = 2.3
C = 2.0
C- = 1.7
D+ = 1.3
D = 1.0
F = 0
I = 0
WF = 0
