Map of Wetlands Prepared by RIDOT Engineers
Map Adapted By:
Mark Danielson, John
Papas, Scott Waterman
As the map team for this project we were in charge of editing a previous map, prepared by the Spring 1998 class, with particular attention to the exact location of the soil and water sampling areas. As a result of our observations, a few changes were made.
We used
the pump station as our reference point as the previous class had done,
and by utilizing compass and meter sticks we recorded that Soil Sample
#1 was located at 220 degrees and 28 meters from the reference point.
We also
marked off Soil Sample #2 at 80 degrees and 32 meters and Soil Sample #3
at 60 degrees and 40 meters.
The Mutts Map Team:
Wetlands Field Investigation – November 1998
Ross Sylvia, Erik Wyche and Jon HudsonAs the map team for this project we were in charge of checking a previous map, prepared by the Spring 1998 class, with particular attention to the exact location of the soil and water sampling areas. As a result of our observations, a few changes were made. The first three soil samples were moved and are plotted on the updated map included. with this Web site. We used the pump station as our reference point. While the area seemed to be very swampy in some areas, some of the pools of water had ceased to exist. However, when a second site visit was carried out one week later, the pools contained water (see Water Quality section).
